Snow!

I know, it's been about a month since I last wrote, so I'll be putting on my hair shirt and saying three hail marys to compensate.  Sometimes my blog is in my head, which isn't the best way to keep it going but I seem to get easily distracted.  The Xmas and New year celebrations have been and gone and were extremely good fun and lovely.  Pat has made me realise that xmas is to be enjoyed rather than endured and I'm thinking that after 25 years of non-wedded bliss (!) he's finally got me to the right mindset regarding xmas.  I was glad when it was over though.  No! that's not the way to deal with it!

I've become a bit more internet savvy and it's all down to Mr Warren Ellis.  He stopped writing Bad Signal at the end of the year and told me to use the RSS feeds to keep up to date with what he was doing, so I had to learn how to do that didn't I?  I've now got Neil Gaiman's blog and Ben Templesmith's too.  They are so interesting,  So prolific.  I suppose when you know that thousands of people follow your every word (like me), you are bound to write it all down for everyone to read and absorb.  Fabulous.

You will be proud of me.  I've finally booked a break to see Ian and Huli in Benahavis and then after a day or so, Kerry (for it is she who's coming with me) and I will drive down to Portugal a la Thelma and Louise to see the crusties for a couple of days.  We're taking books and facepacks and intend to chill to the max.  The weather down there is a bit rainy at the moment and they've all been confined to quarters over the xmas break apparently.  Hopefully, it will be sunshine in the day and chilly at night as we're going down on the 6th February.  This cold snap seems to be happening throughout Europe as far as I can see though.

Yes, we've had snow and ice this week and the whole country is dealing with it as best we can.  Sian thought it meant a good week off work, but didn't factor in my Dunkirk spirit of getting to work and had to give in to my offers of lifts and skidding about in order for her to get a good mark at work.  I was lucky in that I worked all week from Tuesday at home as did everyone in the firm as they were snowed in and didn't think that I should struggle into the office, when I'm more productive at home.  It has been roaringly funny though and loads of good fun.  It's always something to talk about, no?

Anyway, I (again) will try to write again soon, as I know you're all hanging off every word I write.....
