The Losers

Watched the Losers the other night and thoroughly enjoyed the film in a throw away, guns and gags type of way.  I've got the graphics by Andy Diggle and probably have to say I enjoyed them more, but then that's how it goes. It's a shame the film came out in the same year as The A Team and the Expendables, but I'd say it was the better of the three.
I also watched another film which I can't talk about because it's not out on DVD and was given to me by a friend, which I think he'd downloaded slightly ill-egally.  It was good though and you never know, I may buy it when it is released on DVD.

The Black Keys

We have had a very busy weekend, culminating in a Black Keys concert at the O2 Academy in Boscombe.  It was absolutely brilliant and left me speechless.  Such power from two people!  I've never seen dirty, grinding, sliding blues played like that before.  Both of them are so talented.  I took a photo:-
I was sat, like the queen in the disabled section.  It was a brilliant view and the whole evening was made much better for it.

On Saturday, Lic and Rick came down and we slurped several bottles of vino, then went round Darryls for a housewarming/birthday/bonfire party.  Sloshed is definitely the word I would use to describe my state!

Friday, 5 November 2010

So, last post was 18th October?  Since then we've been down to Cornwall to see the aged P's, I've had a week off, a cold and we've done P's birthday.  I'm exhausted!  Needed to come back to work just to get over it.
Went to see RED at the cinema for P's birthday after a lovely meal at the Coriander in Bournemouth http://www.coriander-restaurant.co.uk/ which was absolutely gorgeous.  Well, RED..I'd been looking forward to it too much really, so I think I'll need to see it again.  It's definitely going to be in my collection as it's a "put on anytime" film I think.  Lots of action, lots of funny sequences, not enough true violence (it's only a 12A) but pretty good overall.
good ol' Warren Ellis.  What a gig! S x
