It's all calmed down this week and things are back on an even keel with the NJ. We've filled in the forms for the police and she's been invited to the Xmas party with them, so things are looking up. *Crosses fingers*. Trying to get the boyfriend into work is another thing though...

Had a lovely evening on Saturday round Bev's. We had very pathetic fireworks, which we all sniggered at and then had a meal of linguine with home made ragu wrapped with that big purple vegetable, whose name I can never remember. So, it was lovely. Bev and Pat thought it was a bit bland, but I really enjoyed it and even Anna had seconds! Amazing! She shied away from the bread pudding though... We were just about to take off with the second bottle of red wine when Patsy said that he had to go home because of his back. He'd pulled it helping Mick in his garden, so we had to go home. I was a bit put out by it, but then we sat in bed and listened to the heavyweight fight with the 7ft monster and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a really good sleep and was awake early enough without a headache to slide off to the forest to see the old boys, Sean, Dean and Chris for a spot of mushrooming and then a birthday lunch for Chris. His mum and sister came too, as well as Livvy and the kids so it was a real family affair.

Thoroughly lovely weekend which went too quickly.

Well, after the excitement which was the NEW JOB, we had tears and trauma about the start time, the distance, the train and basically everything else. I think it was mostly hormonal, but she was like it this morning too, although not as extreme. She's being assessed today and I think they will put her on a two week thing to see whether they can all work with her. I phoned up a more local place on Friday and she seemed more positive, so maybe that will work. It's very worrying having an almost unemployable daughter. I never thought I'd have to deal with it really. What's wrong with the youth of today??
Never mind. Had a good birthday with Patsy, went out for lunch with Anna (much to Sian's distress) and then went to see the EODM in the evening which was very entertaining. Drank pints of lager and had to have a big breakfast to counter it the next day.
Friday was spent pottering about and then entertaining in the afternoon, then round the Howards in the evening for an autumn barbeque, which was lovely.
Saturday was one thing after another, along with additional pumpkin carving/halloween celebrations. The girls didn't want me to go round with them this year as they're all a bit big for that, but they weren't too big for me to sit with them while they watched very scary films.....
