Roadtrips

Since I last wrote, kerry has been on a road trip to Azerbijan with Charity Road Trips and has come back down to earth with a bump.  I think she had a fab time, but didn't get too much of a chance to sample the different cultures as they were on a time limit.  So, this means of course, that she wants to go back.  I expect there will be some sort of family road trip coming up, so that she can show us around.  She especially liked Bosnia and said it was stunning.  We've already spoken about going back together.  I'm happy to drive my car over there, rather than hire something and go through the channel tunnel to get to europe.

Our holiday is coming up on Saturday as we're going to Cornwall and although there is a bit of reticence from one boyfriend, everything's on track.  The boyfriend I think wants to stay in the house and Pat and I are both in agreement that he shouldn't.  I need to speak to him tonight and get it sorted once and for all.  He should just come with us and have a free holiday.  I don't understand these youngsters! Never mind.  I will tell him that he needs to be sleeping away from Friday night so that we can get an early start on Saturday morning with no tears and stuff from the girl.  I think that will work.  Why is nothing simple?

Driving Test! Monday 28th June 2010

Sian has passed her driving test!! She kept the day very secret and I even took her up to the train station to go to work, but she sat there for about 15 minutes and then met her instructor, who took her on a 2 hour warm up and she was back at home by about 11.30, really happy and excited that she'd passed.  What a relief! I'm so proud and also extremely relieved.  Well, she'd only got a half day off, so she had to go to work in the afternoon and she drove! How brave is that?

We've not seen her an awful lot since then as the novelty hasn't worn off yet, although I did go for a roadtrip to Somerset last night to plan her route to NASS, at the Royal Bath and West Showground this weekend.  It was a lovely drive and she navigated while I drove.  I don't think she's got enough petrol to do it twice in a week! Anyway, the evening was really lovely and we even managed to glimpse Glastonbury Tor in the distance as the sun went down. Glorious. x
