Weekend

Had a lovely lazy "duvet weekend" this past two days. Even A didn't feel up to trampolining as she'd been to the school disco on Friday and was all raved out. P & I had a couple of hours on Friday evening so we sloped off to the Chinese in Christchurch and it was lovely. Was a bit late to pick up the girls, but they were OK.
On Saturday, had an epiphany and decided to replace the bike shed with a garden office log cabin thingy, so that's my next mission. I'm cramped in the front room and it can get noisy. Having my office overlooking the pond in the peace and quiet will be great. Watch this space!

Beltane

A Little late I know, but Dean sent this from Glastonbury Tor. I think it's lovely.

Deep Breathing

So, after my rant, everything's calmed down and I'm back in control of my life. All is well on t'interweb in the Barrett house and I've worked two days at home this week at speeds I could only dream of previously.

Am in the office today, but it's so quiet, so i've been trolling round the blogs and also reading and linking Facebook to Freak Angels as I think everyone should get into it. Warren Ellis is a master. Maybe if I'm really brave, I'll link this blog to Face book. I don't know if I could deal with the comments though. One day. Maybe.

Rant

Huzzah! two entries in two days! I'm not sure what I'm going to say, but at least I've got round to it. I could talk about the fact I've installed virgin media wireless broadband and BT decided to cut off my business broadband. Or, I could talk about the scrappage incentive that the govt brought in for the first 300,000 people to buy a new car which doesn't apply to disableds on the motability scheme because they're doing a lease hire, rather than a purchase. Or, I could talk about the MP expenses furore, but I won't because I'll bore myself with the details. I'm just happy that I'm putting things down so that I can look back and remember when things have happened.

I'm looking forward to my new car now (Vauxhaul Astra Estate) which I'm getting on the Motability scheme. I want to learn how to drive with my left leg as my right one is a pile of poo and gets fatigued very quickly. This doesn't help when I've got no business broadband at home and i'm having to drive 80 odd miles per day at the moment. It will all sort itself at some point, but I do feel a little out of control at the moment, and I don't like it.

Purbecks

Had a great time camping at Woody Hyde in the Purbecks this weekend. It was just me, Pat and Anna, as Sian decided that staying at home would be good. We had to gird our loins coming home, but no parties had taken place! Phew!
We only stayed the night on Saturday, but got there lunchtime, put the tent up and then settled down to some serious drinking and eating. Unfortunately, I found that about 3/4 of the way through a cool can, I had to go to the loo, so as I'm pretty limpy and weak at the moment Pat had to "escort me" which was good for me, but a bit hectic for him. I was glad that I had him though... He worked ever so hard, putting up the tent, doing the insides and bringing in all the bedding, so I was very grateful. I just sat on my arse and didn't do anything (apart from go to the loo). Kerry and James and the little boys came too and James work partner, Paul and his wife Sharon. They're very good company and we had a good time. Adam came later as he'd broken the spindle in his back wheel going downhill with Shark, so it took him about 2 hours to walk it. Not happy at all. We took photos. We didn't let him stay sad for long and James took him into Poole on Sunday to get a new one, so hopefully he's been able to get home OK. All in all a very lovely weekend, finished off with a good lunch at the New Inn at Church Knowle. Fab!
